Community Programme

At The Catford House, we’re proud to be part of a much bigger story, the story of GCDA (Greenwich Cooperative Development Agency), a social enterprise that’s been helping South Londoners to thrive for more than 40 years.

GCDA enables people and communities to connect, learn, eat well, and build better futures - and now, through The Catford House, we’re excited to be able to bring that same energy and support to Catford.

What we do

GCDA manages a network of welcoming community spaces: from Kidbrooke Community Hub and 68 Erith Hub to Woolwich Common Community Centre and Woolwich Front Room. Each of these spaces offers something different - as unique as the communities they serve.

Kidbrooke Community Hub

A vibrant centre buzzing with workshops, community gatherings and wellbeing activities. It’s a place where neighbours become friends and where learning feels like home. From family events to training courses, it’s all about building confidence and community spirit.

Woolwich Common Community Centre

A hub for inclusion and creativity. Here, GCDA hosts food projects, youth activities, and cultural celebrations that bring together the area’s diverse communities. It’s where people come to share skills, stories, and support.

Woolwich Front Room

A welcoming café and creative space that combines good food with great conversation. There’s a thriving volunteer-led arts programme, home-cooked treats, a ready smile and a listening ear.

68 Erith Hub

Focused on enterprise, food, and training, this hub offers practical opportunities — from cookery classes and business workshops to markets and mentoring. It’s where new ideas are born and local talents shine.

What this means for Catford

By partnering with GCDA, The Catford House becomes part of a South London-wide network of community-driven spaces. Together, we can:

  • Host free or low-cost community events for all ages

  • Deliver training and workshops in cooking, wellbeing, enterprise, and digital skills

  • Support local food projects and sustainable living initiatives

  • Offer space for community groups and start-ups to grow

  • Celebrate Catford’s unique culture while connecting with others across South London

Join the movement

This is just the beginning. GCDA’s approach is about working with communities, not just in them — listening, learning, and building together.

Whether you’re looking to volunteer, start a project, attend a class, or host an event, there’s a place for you in Catford’s growing story.

Together, we’re building communities where everyone can thrive.
