It’s Negroni Week at The Catford House, and we’re doing things a little bit differently (and a whole lot closer to home)! 🍸✨
All week long, grab one of our special house Negronis for just £6. The best part? We’re keeping things fiercely local by pouring Asterley Bros Estate English Vermouth and Dispense Modern British Amaro right here in South London.
What a brilliant way to celebrate Negroni Week and shop local all at the same time. Come pull up a chair, support local makers, and raise a glass with us!

🧵FILM SCREENING & MENDING 🧵
We’re hosting a FREE Film Screening and Mending session on Monday 28th September along with local garment repair and upcycling experts Madsdoandmend.
The film, Handmade Future, is a documentary that asks whether artisans might just be the ones who save us.
Filmed across Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, India’s Golden Triangle, Oaxaca, Appalachian Kentucky and the Cotswolds, the film follows rug weavers, block printers, broom makers and slow-fashion designers as they challenge the culture of fast, cheap production — and explore how beauty, craftsmanship and human connection can help us build a different future.
Come along at 6pm, get mending and learn new tips, then settle down for an amazing
indie film celebrating all that is craft and handmade at 6.30pm. The social will continue once the film is finished.

As part of Circular Economy Week, hosted by ReLondon, we’re doing our bit to keep good clothes in circulation with a Community Clothes Swap at The Catford House.
Bring along up to three clean, good-quality pre-loved pieces and swap them to refresh your wardrobe without buying a thing! Make Mee Studio will also be on hand to advise on repair and care of your clothes, helping you to make your items last longer 🥰🥰
Please only bring pieces that someone else will be delighted to wear – just adult clothes please.

🧶YARN DESTASH SUCCESS AT TCH 🧶
The fantastic folk at Destasher held another amazing event in The Georgian Hall on Saturday raising just shy of £150 for The Celia Hammond Trust, whilst simultaneously helping bust the wool stash of hundreds of Lewisham makers 🤣🤣
Thanks so much to Destasher for making it happen, and to all the crafty folk who came along and joined in. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one!

The Circular Pantry is holding a fundraising Supper Club in collaboration with @barneypau on Saturday 3rd October at Clapton Commons.
Seven queer chefs will cook a unique dinner celebrating the book Serving Up by Zoe Adjonyoh - a collection of essays about food and its powerful link to identity, culture and community.
Zoe is a writer, a chef and a tutor for our GCDA Cookery Clubs - and she's got lots of exciting food-related events coming up. To find out more about the Supper Club and to book a place just click here.
