The Catford House January Newsletter

Dear friends of The Catford House,

First of all - Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you've all had a peaceful and kind start to 2026. It was wonderful being able to share the festive season with you here at the pub. What a wonderful few weeks it's been! So, what's coming up?

Community Programme

Our Catford House Community Programme is kicking off this month with two courses designed to give you a flavour of what will be on offer over the year.

Join our Scrap 'n Stitch sessions! We've got 7 sewing machines ready to whirr into action. Learn easy ways of creating fabric from scraps and then start work on a collar, a fabric storage container, a hot water bottle cover (or fabric patch), and a bucket hat. Starting on Tues 13th January (5.30-7.30pm) sessions are £10 each or you can pay it forward for someone else by adding a little extra. Do one session or all five. Please contact maryjane@gcda.org.uk if the cost of the course is a barrier for you.

Want to launch a food business? Taught by GCDA's CEO Claire Pritchard, this course is designed for anyone developing a food-based business and looking to navigate the complexities of getting it off the ground. From running pubs and restaurants, to helping launch dozens of start-up food businesses, Claire is THE person to help you move your ideas forward in 2026. Starting on Wednesday 28th January (4-6pm), this five-week course costs a total of £50 per person.
